Sue,
I did not know you were writing again but I decided to check your blog and here you are. Two of my friends will be visiting you soon. I don't know the details but they are beautiful women and I know you will all be blessed.
My prayers are with you. Your journey has been long and you are still gracious and bring hope to many. I love the picture of Jerry (and I think you) walking.

Aloha,
Kathleen

Well, sweet Sue, I thought I would check to see if you decided to write any more blogs since last year...and...wow! I'm so glad you reached a point where you felt you could continue to blog with valuable information for caregivers and what they can expect.

The VA info blog was interesting to me as Art qualified for VA benefits a couple months ago. Yes, you are correct. It IS a long process waiting for approval. I don't know if you recall, but he was always hard of hearing due to being an artillery gunner during the Vietnam era. He receives his hearing aids this month. Praise the Lord. Now we'll be able to turn the TV down - ha.

I hope and pray that your visits with Jerry will continue to make you smile with his hugs and kisses. Such treasures...the hugs and kisses...and YOU!

Dear Sue, I am so sorry that I couldn't make your show at Scout and Molly's the end of April. I would love to see you the next time you are in town.
I think about you, Jerry and the journey the two of you are going through. When reading your blog my heart aches for you. I don't know if I could be as strong as you are.
God bless you, Jerry and the family. All of you are in our prayers.

Well, Dixie beat me to the punch & said pretty much everything I was going to say... So ditto, & take it all as double. You said all of this so well and those who don't know Christ haven't the understanding of this. But you are living it, & the Hope within you is evident even in the hardest circumstances.

Sue, what a wonderful post and I say amen! I love your comment that Having God in your life does not change your circumstances but your response to them--so clearly and well said. You ARE a living testimony to this truth and this blog so expresses what Jesus has been to you in the midst of such a heartbreaking circumstance. You are His and so is Jerry and one day, because you have trusted in His love now you both will be whole again. Thank you for being His light to those who are struggling with the pain of Alzheimers in one they love. You are such a precious blessing.

So glad that you are blessing us again with your writing and with your art work. What an honor it is to call you my sister. God has given you such insight into a not so fun last 13 years and you have shared your heart and soul with us. It has given so much greater understanding into the life of a caregiver as well as this terrible disease. I wish that I could attend your art show in Jerry's honor. My, your paint brush has been busy!! I love the colors that you use, and inner happiness comes forth with each stroke. That happiness has to come from your relationship with God and your trust in his love and care. I love you, sis. Barby

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
